Unlike lead-acid batteries, lithium ion forklifts use completely sealed lithium-ion cells, eliminating the need for top-ups. They also significantly improve energy efficiency and support compact, ergonomic designs due to their lighter weight. Lithium forklifts also support opportunity charging, allowing for break time charges to minimise downtime – perfect for 24/7 operations.

- Do lithium forklifts cost more?
Sometimes, the upfront cost for a Li-ion forklift machine is higher. However, significantly lower energy usage, minimal maintenance and extended runtimes dramatically reduce the overall cost of ownership. Plus, we offer flexible payment options to further bring that initial payment down.
Many new models are also eligible for the government’s full expensing scheme, where you receive a state-funded return on a percentage of your payment.
- How long does a lithium forklift battery last?
With proper care, Li-ion forklift batteries typically last for over 4,000 charge cycles without compromising on performance. Depending on usage, that could be 12 years!
- Do I charge my lithium forklift overnight?
No – Li-ion trucks do not need long sessions at the charger. Instead, these forklifts are best charged intermittently in short bursts. Your team can charge them during meal breaks, other tasks or general downtime periods.
